Most deck projects are completed within 2 to 4 weeks once construction starts. Timelines vary with size, design complexity, weather, and permitting — but you'll get a clear timeline in your written proposal, plus weekly check-ins from our crew throughout the build.

Near the water, we usually recommend PVC or high-grade capped composite. PVC has no wood fiber in its core, so salt air has nothing to degrade. Capped composite — like MoistureShield's Solid Core — blocks moisture at the board's core, not just the surface. Both resist the rot, mold, and warping that damage uncapped or wood decks in coastal conditions.

Pressure-treated wood costs less up front but needs regular staining and sealing, and its upkeep cost climbs sharply at years 5 and 10. Capped composite costs more initially but eliminates annual maintenance, resists rot and insects, and carries 25–50 year warranties. On coastal, shaded, or poolside sites we lean composite or PVC; on a tight budget inland, pressure-treated can still make sense. We'll give you the honest call for your site.
